The handymen on the Thumbtack app were definitely up to the task. I decided to try out Thumbtack to see if it could help me and my parents finally tackle the project. They prefer to have a face-to-face meeting with the people who are about to work on their space. You see, when it comes to their home, my parents are understandably old-school. But since I live in a different state, coordinating the makeover hasn't been easy. It's also safe to say I've outgrown my choice of lavender walls with a yellow wallpaper border. Personally, I've been meaning to help my parents repaint my childhood bedroom so they can use it as an extra guest room for forever. ![]() That's where the Thumbtack app is designed to swoop in to help. The problem is, that doesn't make housework any less important. We get that chores aren't exactly what you want to think about with warm-weather get-togethers and vacations are on the horizon. From replacing air conditioner filters regularly to cleaning the shower head, the list of tasks can pile up fast. Home care and maintenance is a lot to manage. ![]()

To achieve serenity and peace in life, one has to dispel time. The key to achieving serenity and peace does not lie in the internals or externals. True empathy arises from understanding and knowing that you have made someone feel as upset as you feel in moments of pain and hardship. If someone makes you feel crappy and hurt, think about the times that you have done the same to hurt someone else. True empathy is to understand the pain that you have inflicted on others, as you experience the same pain that has been inflicted on you. Hardship is required to humble oneself and to develop true empathy. Here are some life lessons that I have taken away from reading “Siddhartha”. The book follows the experiences and hardships he encounters at different stages of his life. What makes the book so compelling is how Hesse paints Siddhartha as such an imperfect character who dwells a lot in internal conflict and turmoil (definitely something I can relate to). “Siddhartha” is a book that follows the life of a Brahmin son, Siddhartha, who breaks away from his family to embark on a journey of self-discovery.
